Focus. All of us are overwhelmed with The disturbing events in the world today! Election campaigns, ISIS attacks, violence in our communities, police are also victims of vicious attacks, organizations and the government are denying freedom of speech and religion…

How can we respond? Focus. First, focus on God. God knows about the chaos, He cares and He can be trusted in the midst of it. Jesus said, “in this world you will have trouble. But, take heart. I have overcome the world.” Jn. 16:33 And He said, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Jn. 14:27

We can trust in the unchanging character of God found in our Lord Jesus Christ. He has promised peace despite these troubling circumstances. And He has promised victory. Within these promises we discover the hope and strength to go on. Strength to continue to live for  Him…the One who rose from the dead, conquered sin, death and Satan. Let your focus be on Christ. He is our rock in these tumultuous times.
